Nicotine and addiction
Snap pouches contain nicotine. Nicotine is a highly addictive substance. It raises heart rate and blood pressure, and dependence can develop quickly. Snap products are not risk-free. The only way to avoid all risk associated with nicotine is not to use nicotine at all.
Snap is intended solely for adults aged 18 and over who already smoke or use other nicotine products. If you do not currently use nicotine, do not start.
Snap is not a smoking cessation product
Snap is not licensed, approved or sold as a smoking cessation aid, a nicotine replacement therapy or a medical product in the UAE, and we make no claim that it helps anyone stop smoking or reduce harm. If your goal is to stop using nicotine, speak to a doctor or a Ministry of Health and Prevention supported cessation service.
Do not use Snap if you
- are under 18 years of age
- are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding
- do not currently smoke or use nicotine or tobacco products
- are allergic to nicotine or to any ingredient declared on the can
- have high blood pressure, an unstable heart condition, or diabetes
- have been advised by a doctor to avoid nicotine for any reason
If you have any medical condition or take prescription medication, ask a doctor or pharmacist before using a nicotine product.
Side effects you may notice
Common effects include a tingling or burning sensation where the pouch sits, gum irritation, increased saliva, hiccups and a dry mouth. Using a strength that is too high, or more than one pouch at a time, can cause headache, dizziness, nausea, sweating or a rapid heartbeat. If that happens, remove the pouch, drink water, and use a lower strength next time. Persistent gum soreness or a sore that does not heal should be seen by a dentist.
Keep away from children and pets
Snap cans are child-resistant, but they are not childproof. A single pouch can cause serious nicotine poisoning in a child or an animal. Store cans out of sight and out of reach, keep the lid closed, and never leave loose pouches on a table or in a bag pocket. If a child or pet swallows a pouch, seek medical or veterinary help immediately and take the can with you so the nicotine content can be read off the label.
Disposal
Used pouches go in the lid compartment of the can and then in a bin. Do not drop them in the street, in a drain, on a beach or in a plant pot — a discarded pouch still contains nicotine and is a hazard to children, animals and cleaning staff.
Regulatory position in the UAE
Tobacco-free nicotine pouches are a regulated product category in the United Arab Emirates. The framework that applies to Snap includes:
Regulatory requirements applying to nicotine pouches in the UAE
| Area | Requirement |
| Technical standard | UAE Standard UAE.S 5061 for tobacco-free nicotine pouches: pharmaceutical-grade nicotine, maximum pH 9.1, controlled water activity, prohibited-substance list, shelf-life testing |
| Conformity | ECAS certification administered by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), which absorbed ESMA in 2020 |
| Nicotine content | Capped per pouch under the standard and declared on the can |
| Minimum age | 18 years, verified online and at point of sale or delivery |
| Labelling | Health warnings in Arabic and English, ingredient and nicotine declaration |
| Packaging | Child-resistant closure and tamper-evident seal |
| Tax | Federal excise duty and VAT apply; digital tax stamp requirements are enforced by the Federal Tax Authority |
| Public use | Restricted in public places; individual emirates and venues apply their own rules |
| Health claims | Marketing a nicotine product as a medical or cessation aid without MOHAP approval is not permitted |
Buying nicotine pouches from an unlicensed seller, or importing them into the UAE by international courier, carries a real risk of seizure and penalty. Buy from licensed UAE retailers only.
Marketing and age
We restrict our own communications to audiences that can be verified as 18 and over, do not use imagery, characters or platforms aimed at young people, and do not sample to people who are not already nicotine users. If you see Snap material that appears to be targeted at minors, report it to us and we will take it down.
Counterfeits
If a can carries no Arabic warning text, no declared nicotine content, or no conformity marking, it was not made for the UAE market and we cannot vouch for what is in it. Genuine Snap cans are bilingual, sealed and marked. When in doubt, send us a photo of the can and the batch code.
